My review is based on my overall experience purchasing a car. I purchased a used vehicle from a young sales rep name Jalen Henderson; the car was for my son. Prior to the sale, the dealership fixed the windshield wiper motor, and Jalen said that I would also get one free oil change with my purchase. When I filled out my paperwork, there was one form that stated nothing else was promised, so I assumed he had already put the oil change in their system. He also told me that when I'm ready to have the oil changed done to bring the vehicle there , they would take care of it. After three months, I sent my son there to have the oil changed and was told it was not in my paperwork, and they would not honor it. I also asked to have a manager call me back, but no one returned my call. I told Jalen that I didn't know one oil change was included until he told me. After our conversation, I told Jalen that I would pay for the oil change somewhere us but I informed him that I am a man of my word and would not tell someone something then don't stand behind my word. They last thing I discussed was that he is willing to lose a customer over an oil change that will probably cost the dealership 50.00 instead of standing behind his word in order to build a loyal customer. He's young and will learn the value of standing behind his word as he gets older. Too bad he had to lose a customer in the process. Update 1-14-2025 I am changing my review based on my conversation with the manager, Freddy. Freddy apologized for the misunderstanding and agreed to allow my son to come and have the oil changed at no cost to us. He even offered to provide a loaner vehicle while they perform the work. Freddy said he talked to Jalen and I do believe Jalen will learn how best to service the customers in the future. Mullinax is a good company and will go the extra mile to win your business. You don't have to worry about the best deal because their prices are at the lowest price they can sell the vehicle for. Good managers makes those around them great and Freddy has shown this in his actions and I'm sure Jalen is on his way to being an exceptional employee and even a manager someday. He has the right attitude and wants to do a great job. Hats off to Freddy, Jalen and Mullinax for saving a customer and I will refer friends and family members to your dealership whenever they are looking for another vehicle.
